The Best of Fall vs Halloween Home Decor October 12, 2020
When you decorate your home for the new fall season, do you decorate for fall or do you decorate for Halloween? Or do you do both? I’ve always been a fall only decorator. Every year, I mostly decorate with real pumkins and pinky mums on my front porch but inside I decorate with lots of mini white pumpkins and some velvet pumpkins. One of these days, I need to up my fall decor game.
The reason that I usually lean towards fall only home decor, is because it’s a season that lasts longer. I absoultely LOVE Christmas time, but I am one of those people that doesn’t like to look over the Thanksgiving holiday. That said, I refuse to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I put my fall decor up late September or early October, leave it up through Thanksgiving day, and then the day after Thanksgiving I throw all my pumpkins out. If you are wondering about Christmas, my husband and I go get a real tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and we put all out Christmas out then. Back to the topic at hand though.. When I say it last longer, I mean Halloween decor (in my opinion) should only be up the month of October (maybe less), but Fall can last you September through November.
This year though, I have seen SO many cute Halloween decor that I am truly debating on converting to mixing the two. Like no joke. I really want to decorate for Halloween this year. I feel like another reason I don’t usually decorate for Halloween is because I hate anything spooky or scary. Scary movies? Yeah, that’s an epic no for me. Getting off my Halloween & Fall horse and sharing my favorite holiday home decor finds!
